Guitar is the heart of many musicians, why shouldn’t it be? The neck of the guitar hosts the guitar’s fretboard, tuners, headstock, truss rod and frets. An interesting thing here is the wood used to create the fretboard is actually different from the wood used to make rest of the neck. It makes a quite difference actually. Whenever heavier gauge strings are used the bending stress on the neck is very much. If the strings are put tight for many months without use, they can bend the neck of the guitar easily due to their tension. Truss rod helps the guitar neck to resists such bending that’s why the good quality truss rod is very important in guitar neck. One of the measurements of quality of guitar is the rigidity of the neck and it is tested well before buying the guitar. Another variation in the shape of guitar neck exists up on its use, it can range from slightly curved to v type neck. For the ease of the player the neck contains the marker dots on the face of fretboard. Guitar neck is also divided as like guitar types electric guitar neck and acoustic guitar neck.
